Ackerley Sports Group was formed in 2023 by Christopher and Ted Ackerley of Ackerley Partners, LLC in Seattle, WA along with London-based partner – Timothy Kirkwood who brings an extensive background in international finance and investment banking.
ASG invests in the sports sector with a focus on leagues, teams, venues, media, technology and development opportunities.
Ackerley Sports Group is an expansion of the investment practice established in 2002 by Ackerley Partners.
The Ackerley’s have participated as owners of all or a part of a number of professional sports franchises, including the NBA Seattle SuperSonics, the WNBASeattle Storm, the CISL Seattle Seadogs, the MLR Seattle Seawolves, the AHL Coachella Firebirds, the NHL’s Seattle Kraken and most recently, in partnership with 49ers Enterprises, majority control of the Leeds United Football Club.
